SUNY Libraries Consortium (SLC) 2017-2022

The SUNY Libraries Consortium (SLC) was an independent organization formed to implement the vision of the Member Libraries of the Consortium (Membership) and support SUNY students, faculty, researchers and staff.

Charge:

The LRT task force will investigate the implications of using local resource types in a shared bibliographic environment and its impact on discovery in Primo VE. The task force will work with the SUNY Library Services (SLS) to develop an understanding of the impacts of local resource types in SUNY. The LRT task force will be short-term task force that would require a 3 month commitment from members.

In this role, members of the LRT task force will:

  • Develop an understanding of what local resource types are
  • Develop an understanding of why local resource types need to be configured at the Network level
  • Review the impact of implementing a local resource type at the Network level on discovery in Primo VE
  • Develop a policy on the use of local resource types in SUNY


Deliverables from the LRT task force:

  1. Develop a policy on the use of local resource types in SUNY
  2. Present the local resource type policy to the LSP members for approval
