Charge:

Identify data migration needs and coordinate migration efforts in collaboration with SUNY Office of Library and Information Services, SUNY University Centers, the LSP Task force, and other LSP working groups such as the Metadata Standards and Access Services and Resource Sharing working group. Facilitate data migration preparation efforts throughout the SUNY Libraries Consortium in advance of and during the migration to a Library Services Platform. In consultation with working groups, research and recommend procedures and workflows for campuses related to migrating data including but not limited to bibliographic information, reserves, acquisitions, patron information, and electronic resources. Work closely with LSP Vanguard campuses to gather migration issues discovered in Vanguard phase, and develop new methods for full SUNY LSP migration. Pursue data migration efforts that will ensure a standard system configuration that allows for enhanced efficiency for local and consortial access, reduce redundant data migration activities among campuses, and that will produce reliable data for system-wide data analysis. Work with SUNY to investigate NYS guidelines or other relevant standards related to data retention policies, user privacy, and best practices for records management. Investigate best practices for migration of data to Alma, and work with stakeholders on facilitating exports of data from current systems for local use if data cannot be effectively migrated to the new LSP.

Membership: University Center, OLIS, and Vanguard representatives
