The SUNY Library Accessibility Interest Group began in the summer of 2020 as the SUNY Library Accessibility Cohort. The Cohort built a community, completed basic training in accessibility, created a process for VPAT reviewing and accessibility testing, developed a VPATless review process for vendor platforms that do not have VPATs, created a rubric to determine whether an exception request is necessary for procuring a product, created an accessibility toolkit, and started a repository of VPATs and VPAT reviews for commonly subscribed-to library vendors. This cohort finished its work in the spring of 2021 and decided to continue as an interest group.
